Would you please tell us a little about yourself and your business experience?
I am an immigrant mother from Bolivia; I came to the US with my mother when I was 13 years old, I graduated with a Business degree from LMU. I am a founder and CEO of The Aptus Group, Inc. a staffing agency established in 2008 serving public schools.
How are you involved with the Polk Institute?
I am an active participant of the Pi Legacy program.
Please tell us one of your best success stories.
One of my most proud success stories was when I brought in a college student as an intern at Aptus. His work ethic was outstanding, so I offered him a job. He finished college while working for me and became a full-time employee at Aptus. Recently, I was able to find a placement for him to work as a full-time teacher working under a teaching permit while attending an online school program to obtain his teaching credential.
What is your top benefit of being with the Polk Institute?
There are several benefits of participating in the Polk Institute but a couple of my top favorite benefits are the outstanding presenters, the camaraderie that’s built as we share authentically and vulnerably with other participants in the program, and immensely valuable “what’s keeping you up at night” conversations with Gary Polk.
Would you please give us one of your favorite quotes?
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. By Winston Churchill.
